13 days until Some ME Time 5th Annual Mothers Day Brunch (http://www.somemetime.net/). The last three days have been so busy, I guess that's good because I've heard it said idile time is the devils playground... I'm pretty sure he found somewhere else to play!!! Friday, I had the pleasure of filing my taxes (can you hear the sarcasm in my voice?!) I promise you, this years was so overwhelming. Since Some ME Time is an official registered business with NYS, all of your T's must be crossed and you I's must be dotted. I can no longer go to a Tax Preparer it is in the best interest of the company to have a Licensed CPA. One of my good friends referred me to her Accountant. What a blessing that was. My appoint was for 10am, I didn't get to him until 11:15( I have NYC MTA to thank for that). So you can only imagine how overwhelmed I was already. Thankfully, I was able to be seen right away. I had all these old receipts, hand written notes that I wrote to myself, in my mind I was pretty organized. I knew what every note represented, for goodness sake was written clear as day......."What don't you understand sir?" Why does he keep asking me questions when everything is written on my stickys????!!!!! (I was so annoyed with him, and it had nothing to do with his heavy country accent!!! LOL) It wasn't until he handed me a few binders for my to put all my documents in that I realized Girl you need to get it together. You are in Business!!!! Some ME Time is no longer a hobby but an official business, I know it sounds crazy but it's true!!!! Yup, I AM A C.E.O.
Finally after leaving Mr Reynolds office I was STARVING!!!! You know the kind of starving where you get evil, everything annoys you, people walking to dang slow in front of you ( and I was on 42nd Street, can you imagine???!!!! my stomach was growling louder then NYC Subway lines........) and everyone looked to happy... That's how hungry I was. Instead of racing home to I made a decision to go to Apple Bee's in the heart of 42nd Street. I was seated in the back...... it was perfect I was all by my lonesome. (Somebody say Some ME Time) I ordered Nachos and a large glass of Strawberry lemonade. Although it was packed because it was during lunch time, I felt so relaxed, it was Me, the Nachos and my strawberry lemonade everyone else did not exist to me. I must admit that was the highlight of my afternoon!!!. Sometimes all you need is 15, 20,60, 75 or even 24 hours to yourself and it will be rejuvenated, refreshed and ready for the next few days. I know I'm always preaching Some ME Time... but it truly is a Necessity not a Luxury!!!

How it all began.....
I can't believe this is Some ME Times 5th Year for our Mothers Day Brunch. www.facebook.com/somemetime God is definitely Good. It all started in 2006 with just a idea. I was so tired of going to a crowded restuarant for Mothers Day and possibly wait on a long line, mothers day was getting so boring for me.(I hope that came out right) I'd walk around my apartment and say to my Stew(my Fiance'), I want to do a Brunch for Women, I want to host an event for women thats fun and different, I talked about it night and day....... Finally I guess he got tired of hearing me talk about it and not actual take the necessary steps to get it done. After a few weeks of me talking and not doing..... he finally said four powerful words me. "JUST DO IT ALREADY!!!" I know it sounds so cliche' but I promise you its the truth. For some divine reason when he said those four words to me...... it's like a a light went on in my head. I know it sounds so cliche' but I promise you its the truth, thats how Some ME Time moved from my mind to a location. At that point it's like I knew what to do,who to call and where to go to make it happen.I called my friend Suga Sean Riley (comedian), My sister Dawn, My friends Alisa Parker and cousin Veronica Taylor. They were so helpful and supportive!!!! That year in 2006, 62 Women paid for my first Annual Pre-Mothers Day Brunch.
Sometimes I think about it and say WOW!!! The first year was 62 women and last year we had 218 women attend the brunch. Every year the event gets bigger and better. Every year the women leave feeling rejuvenated and refueled. www.somemetime.net Some ME Times Brunch gets better every year.... Our goal is to create a atmosphere of fun, laughter, bonding and tranqulity. We always serve GREAT food, we have excellent vendors, making last minute shopping enjoyable. We're alway responsible for making lasting memories with old friends and new.
I am so excited about this year!!!! I'm excited, nervous, anxious and uncertain. Although I don't have tangible proof that this year is gong to be the best yet I CAN JUST FEEL IT. Just like I told Eaze, a male server at Peaches Restuarant...... Just because you've never seen The Air....... doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I'd like to take this time to personal invite you to try something different this year for Mothers Day. Saturday May 7,2011 12-5PM. Join Some ME Time as we celebrate our 5th Annual Mothers Day Brunch at 161 Jamaica Avenue, Brooklyn NY. Enjoy a afternoon of fun, games, massage, wine tasting, comedy,make-up instruction and so much more.
This is my first entry of many to come. Please let me know what you think!!!
